And when you have been out, in a completely different pattern of thinking, coming back and reading the newpapers is refreshing. I have to say that I am still not sure what the "Ministry of the French Identity" would mean, and what the consequences will be for foreigners (like me) but Sarkozy is trying to do something original. He has indeed invited socialist ministers in his government. Kouchner (active campaigner for Segolene), former minister in socialist governments and probably best know as a former chairman of "Medecins sans Frontieres" becomes the minister of foreign affairs. Hirsch, chairman of an association (Emmaus France) that campaigns for the homeless and he poor in France, and that lost their initiator Abbe Pierre (a national hero) recently, becomes High Commisioner for Poverty release.
Interesting evolution to be followed up. Would politics really become different? But the least that can be said right now is that Sarkozy shows guts (I like that). I hope though that the ministers in question did ask themselves a number of questions.
