Just an update on our "Innovation School" developments. We are about to finish the "learning-by-doing" learning lab, a pedagogical approach that is called by some "the anti-school". Prof Sadagopan (Director of IIIT-Bangalore) referred to it as a Gurukul University, based on the classical hindu tradition of Gurukul. If it all goes well, we should be able to show it January 2007. In the meantime we have three projects of application. We are going to use it as the learning platform of a modular MBA we are launching, which will be a hybrid learning formula with some modules (in different countries) and some collaborative learning using the Innovation School.
We are also underway in the creation of a learning approach, annex community of practice, around the management of Urban Risks (ranging from terrorism to industrial catastrophies). A very innovative idea in which the "continuous" learning approach is fully implemented.
Finally we are creating in close cooperation with IIIT-Bangalore a Mini MBA project, to be used, amongst others, in a large Village Community Development program. Prof Sadagopan welcomed us (Erna Oldenboom, Jean Christophe Carteron and myself) for a working meeting in Bangalore. Currently, two of our students in exchange at IIM-Bangalore or working on the project, and they already completely got in the "mood".
