A little update on the use of blogs in France (but written in French) is published in Le Monde Campus of March 30, 2005. Students report on how and why they keep their blogs alive and one of the reasons is "to show one's interest in a professional sector and to attract recruiters". For the anecdote, and as you can see in my blog, the assignments of last semester's complexity course are made public. I got a phone call from a student saying that she was surprised about that. When I apologized that I was not aware that there would be confidential information in her assignment she answered: "That is not the problem, but now a possible recruiter can find my work and if I would have known that beforehand, I would have spent more time and effort on it". Good to know, but seemingly a trend.
In the second part of the article, I comment on the use I make of this blog for educational purposes and my beliefs about that. However those ideas can also be found in this blog.
